Jean-Marie Le Méné, present in Reims this afternoon to support Vincent’s parents, reacts to Dr Daniela Simon’s announcement:
“We are glad of Dr Simon’s decision not to stop Vincent’s food and hydration today. This turnaround first comes as a relief: Vincent will not be put to death just yet.
Dr Simon also expressed a new and special preoccupation to defend Vincent’s life. She asked the prosecutor for a global and reinforced protection for Vincent, which shows she believes Vincent is truly alive.
We will remain mobilized over the next couple of weeks; the debate has shifted.
For Vincent’s own good, we hope that the decision taken on July 23rd will mark the beginning of a new and wiser approach: his transfer to another health centre, far from all the violence and the threats.”
