Christmas is coming and we are joyfully looking forward to getting together with ours families.
Christmas is also the celebration of hope, and in this year in which we are celebrating the Foundation’s 20th anniversary, I cannot help feeling this mad hope deep down; hope which is the base of our work, following in my husband’s footsteps; hope of finding a treatment to cure Down Syndrome.
This hope is something we all share and which makes us progress thanks to the unceasing generosity you have shown for over 20 years. Researchers are making progress thanks to you, and we can rejoice over the huge advances that have been made these past years.
Hope, also, that those among us who are the most vulnerable will finally be accepted for what they are in our society. Your great mobilisation against the CSA last summer, to defend the rights of people with Down Syndrome to speak of their happiness, is a sign. Moreover, it is also thanks to the courage your support gave them that the 7 young adults living with Down Syndrome filed a case against the CSA so that our society finally acknowledges their right to be happy and say so.
In the name of all the Foundation, I wish you all a very merry Christmas and thank you for your unwavering support.
