« My dear daddy », a video for Father’s Day

In France, the Jérôme Lejeune Foundation has launched a video called “My Dear Daddy” for Father’s Day, on Sunday 15th June. The aim of the video is to deliver a tender and joyful message about the fathers of children with Down Syndrome.

With the success of the « Dear Future Mom » video campaign launched by the Foundation for the International Down Syndrome Day last 21st March, many fathers of children with Down Syndrome shared with the Foundation their desire to put forward their father-child relationship.

The video « My Dear Daddy » aims at celebrating the 60 000 French fathers whose children have Down Syndrome, at reassuring future fathers (every day in France, 1 child with Down Syndrome is born) and at fighting against prejudice which leads to the stigmatization of children with Down Syndrome: a child with Down Syndrome is, above all, a child; a father whose child has Down Syndrome is, above all, a father.

The video was put online on 11th June on Youtube
